Sooooo!! This is the first clip I edited from all the material that was mostly (and beautifully) filmed by Etienne Manuhuwa (thank you so much!) during the first edition of the Kitchen Concerts! I wanted to give you a glimpse of what the evening has been like. Some of the vibe and short impressions of the duets I performed together with Janne Schra, Elle, Mary Davis Jr and Shirma Rouse! And of course there is a lot more to come :) In the upcoming weeks I will release a music video every week from one of the guest artists including the interviews we had with all of them. And also some of the other songs that were performed during the evening! So for now enjoy and as soon as there is any new material I will post it on my website. Love - iET
the 1st Kitchen Concert is done! And it was a great day.. We filmed and recorded the whole concert and in the upcoming weeks i will release some videoclips of the songs! So stay tuned!! Music is ♥ presents the Kitchen Concerts!
So we are incredible proud to present the 1st Kitchen Concert on May 21st!
iET is organizing a series of 3 Kitchen Concerts to promote the collaborations with other great singer songwriters for her album the Kitchen Recordings Series 2! Each concert will be held in iET’s own home and each edition will feature a few of the artists from the album.
This 1st edition will be with: Janne Schra (Room Eleven), Elle, Shirma Rouse, Mary Davis Jr
Not only will there be a small audience to witness this special occasion but all the concerts will be filmed and recorded so we can share the live performances with all of you guys! And finally after the last concert in September there will be a release evening planned in BIRD, Rotterdam with hopefully all of the artists!

De Rotterdamse iET, wiens echte naam Lisa Vliegen is, maakte ‘The Kitchen Recordings met haar man, gitarist en producer Budy Mokoginta (Shirma Rouse en Secret Rendezvous). Vanaf de eerste tonen in ‘The Field’ neemt iET je mee in een mystieke sfeer, gecreeerd door filmische muziek, haar prachtige heldere stem en dromerige koortjes. In Don’t Let Go is er plaats voor een geraffineerd laagje soul met handclaps en een electronische twist. Tekstueel komen er onderwerpen aan de orde als balansverstoring in ‘Lost Myself’ en loslaten in het prijsnummer ‘This Is It’.
iET levert een EP af waar geen dure studiotechnieken aan te pas komen. ‘The Kitchen Recordings’ klinkt puur en eerlijk. Het is geen doorsnee singer/songwritersplaat, maar bevat een hoog creatief gehalte dat indruk maakt door de muzikale variatie. Achter de EP-titel staat ‘Series I’ vermeld. Dat wekt de indruk dat er nog een EP of album aankomt met dezelfde aanpak. Luisterend naar de kwaliteit en avontuur op ‘The Kitchen Recordings’, is een volgende collectie recepten uit de keuken van iET zeer welkom. Een appetijtelijk hoogstandje met veel sfeer.

“Christmas Day” by iET
iET decided to sit down again at “the Kitchen Table” and recorded this beautiful song called Christmas Day. This song is actually based on a song called This Day wich has not been released yet so it is extra special! The Christmas song is also picked up by Dutch Music Platform 3voor12 (Luisterpaal) and Dutch Music journalist Guuz Hoogaerts wrote about it on his Christmas Blog and also Music Blog EHPO loves the song!

iET is de naam van de dame achter de EP The Kitchen Recordings Series 1. Een schijfje vol prachtige homemade songs van een singer/songwriter die zegt slechts een tipje van de sluier hiermee op te lichten. Volgend jaar verschijnt haar eerste volwaardige cd maar muziek.nl is zo nieuwsgierig dat we toch met haar even aan de keukentafel gingen zitten.
Opnemen met de smaak van je vader in het hoofd. Waar hebben we dat meer gehoord? iET doet er niet moeilijk over. Ze groeide op met de platenkast van palief in haar hoofd. ‘The Doors, Everly Brothers, The Beach Boys, Eagles, dat soort werk.’ Ach, dat is geen vervelende datababase om uit te putten. Het is ook een hoekje waar de toen nog in Middelburg wonende en als Lisa van Viegen opgroeiende singer/songwriter in de dop in zat. ‘Ik heb heel lang in die hoek gezeten. Daarna was het soul. Het lekker spul van ondermeerErykah Badu, Lizz Wright, Jill Scott enD’Angelo. Dat vind ik nog steeds te gek maar als uitvoerende artiest kruip ik toch liever tegen mijn oude liefde aan.’ En die oude liefde is dus liedjes schrijven met de akoestische gitaar op de schoot. De eerste resultaten daarvoor werden haast achteloos opgenomen. ‘Het was nooit de bedoeling om de songs die nu op The Kitchen Recordings Series 1 staan uit te brengen. Je moet dit ook meer zien als de aanloop naar een volwaardig album. Zie het als een mooie introductie.’

iET, want zo heet ze nu als artieste, heeft haar naam te danken aan haar man Budy die het vooral gebruikt als een koosnaampje. ‘En het staat voor intens emotional thrill. Ik ben maar een onderdeel.’ Lisa van Viegen, dat is haar echte naam, heeft er een stevig poosje over gedaan voordat ze haar plek vond in muziekland. Ze studeerde vocale jazz aan het conservatorium in Hilversum maar ze bleek te weinig jazzbagage te hebben. En via Den Haag kwam ze terecht in Middelburg. ‘Daar heb ik de rust gevonden en daar is ook The Kitchen Recordings deel 1 ontstaan. Ik heb niet zoveel met de hectiek van de muziekwereld. Feestjes en zo kunnen mij allemaal gestolen worden. Samen met haar man, producer en gitarist Budy Mokoginta nam ze de songs letterlijk in de keuken op. Nu woont Van Viegen in Schiedam maar zegt de rust en het gemoedelijke van Middelburg wel te missen. ‘Deze cd moet de aanloop zijn naar een volwaardig album. Dat zal wel wat rijker worden wat betreft sound en instrumentatie maar ik denk dat The Kitchen Recordings wel een prima introductie is. We hebben echt alles in één keer ingespeeld.’
